What is the classifier for "skewer"

Hi,

Absolute beginner with Thai so please be gentle with me. :-)

When asking for X numbers of chicken or beef skewers from a grill, how do you say that correctly in Thai? So, what would the correct wording be for:

4 chicken skewers and 2 beef, please?

Thank you!

Use the the Thai word for "wood/stick" to count skewers.

ขอไก่ 4 ไม้และเนื้อ 2 ไม้ครับ

kŏr gài sèe máai láe néua sŏng máai kráp

เอาไก่ 4 ไม้และเนื้อ 2 ไม้ครับ

ao gài sèe máai láe néua sŏng máai kráp

evile trying to be the new nonsensical person of this forum , ปฏัก really?

Thais understand and use "mai" for stick

a wooden stick is mai mai

starrdog perfect

btw evile, if you're gonna put numbers after words in thai, you gotta use the classifier, even if its nonsense words

i asked 2 thai person and a fluent friend

they both didnt know what you meant, one didnt know what the first word meant.. "spear"

Its a forum to learn and discuss thai, not google random words and put them together in english grammar.

โปรด

no one uses that, there's no "please" like that in thai at the end of a sentence

A good way to learn how to put a sentence together is to look over thai-language.com the word that you are trying to use and look at all the examples.

There's usualy 10+, they are very good. You can't speak thai with a foreign grammar, it just does not convey any of the meanings you think it does

If you look at stick, you'll get mai and a ton of examples
