November 4, 200619 yr I wouldn't go to Parramatta for anything . . . ugh . . . (Why are they holding it there, any idea?)
November 4, 200619 yr I wouldn't go to Parramatta for anything . . . ugh . . . (Why are they holding it there, any idea?) Parramatta is pretty much the geographic centre of the Sydney metropolitan area. I would guess that there are a lot of Thai people who would find it a much more convenient place to get to than the CBD or the eastern suburbs.
November 4, 200619 yr Jockster, I went (hadn't been for many years), the weather was crappy aye! Think it was the first time it was held in that spot along the river - in the past it was held at Parramatta Park. Comparing to the Parramatta Park spot, from what I remember it was HEAPS better over there. They had a big stage setup with Thai bands and beauty contests plus dancing etc. with all the food stalls setup around it. Anyway, my wife wasn't too keen to stick a Loy Krathong into a river that wasn't moving! Cheers YBB Edited November 4, 200619 yr by Youbloodybeauty
November 4, 200619 yr Author We went. The food was good. The Loy Krathongs were crap and really cheaply made with paper plates. The reason we went wasnt for me but the missus. We got there just before 7 and left by 8.30. Though we did get to eat some somtam. Which was great but cost 7 dollars. Going to the Thai food festival next Sunday at Darling harbour with Udon and snoop.
November 5, 200619 yr The Loy Krathongs were crap and really cheaply made with paper plates. Hehe - probably the greenies were checking each Loy Krathong for foam. How about the long queue to stick 'em in the water Cheers YBB
November 5, 200619 yr The missus is happy anyway. That's good Jock, Parramatta was a bit far for us, glad you enjoyed
