PHETCHABUN: -- A wellknown temple in Khao Kho district of Phetchabun province has been abruptly closed to the public due to acute shortage of water, according to Post Today Online.

Many tourists from several other provinces who visited Wat Phra That Pha Sornkaew in Tambon Campson yesterday were disappointed when they saw a sign put up in front of the temple notifying about the temporary closure of the temple.

The tourists complained that the temple should have given an advance warning before the closure because they had travelled for a long distance in order to visit the temple.

The temporary closure stemmed from lack of water for use in toilets and for other purposes making it extremely inconvenient for visitors.

The closure has also affected about a dozen food and souvenir stalls around the temple which have relied on tourists as their main source of income.
