Migrant crisis: EU 'to grant Turkey visa-free travel'

BRUSSELS: -- The European Commission is to grant Turkey conditional approval this Wednesday for visa-free travel within the EU's Schengen area, sources have told the BBC.

The move is part of a deal in which Turkey has agreed to take back migrants who have crossed the Aegean to Greece.

But Turkey must still meet EU criteria, BBC Europe Editor Katya Adler says.

another nail in the coffin for the EU

A welcome "shot in the arm" for Brexit.

Unbelievable...

Just what Europe needs,more freeloaders

Not Only Turkey

Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia and Kosovo are set to gain visa-free travel to Europe as (EU) prepare to sign off the plans this week.

bad mistake from Europe.

basically Turks got what they need.

and actually on the paper, Turks were granted visa free travel in 1972 which was never applied by EU.

now, i believe around 5 million turks will go to Europe. Good thing is economy in Turkey is not bad by being the 5th biggest economy in Europe so if some leave, they will be back same as Italians back their home countries when their economy was good.

The sooner the UK gets out of this mess the better, has the EU learnt nothing from open border policys

This news is to be expected. What else have the Eurocrats got in store for the populace?

The EU might as well apply for ASEAN and African Union membership now, join the rest of the third world club.

I don't know whats worse, Turk's or refugees

Well to be fair Turkey did honor their side of the bargain. They took about 20 so called refugees back last month although It might be too early to celebrate as most of those 20 just hopped straight back on the next boat to Greece. So Europe gave back about 20 and will accept about 100 million. Time to start learning the koran methinks.
