I worked at a job that is a month on/ month off, so I have been using 30 day permission to stay stamps when I come to live in LOS with my Thai wife. I do not use a visa. I do not believe this is a visa on arrival but I could be wrong. I didn't fill out any paperwork at the airport except for the arrival card. I hold a US passport. This has been my method for a long time. Some time ago I needed an extension and went to the Korat immigration office. I think they gave me a two week extension?

My question is what are the current rules regarding extension of permission to stay stamps (non visa) . I lost my job and need to stay here another 30 days. sad.png

The term for what you have is a "tourist visa exemption", usually referred to as a "visa exempt entry. You can extend it one time for 30 days on payment of 1,900 baht. You usually apply for the extension (which starts at the end of your current permission to stay: no need to wait until the last day) during the last 7 days of your initial permission to stay.

Sorry to learn about the job.

If you need more time you can ask for a 60 day extension "to visit your wife"

You will need themarriage certificate and copies of your wife's ID + Tabian Baan, together with copies of your passport. Same 1900Bht fee. Your wife must accompany you if you apply.
