Thai company, websites a shambolic farce

Featured Replies

so,i spent all afternoon shopping for stuff for my girlfriend in the Philippines,at a fashion online company,i was on the singapore link,so they do not deliver internationally,so i was redirected to the Thai site, what a shambolic mess, nothing would work, eventually i went to the Philippine site,it all worked,no problem,i also had the same recently trying to contact the Krung Thai bank, they have a call centre who's number is deleted,or does not work, same when you e mail insurance companies, never a reply, are they too busy eating and having sanuk in the office. They are falling far behind not only the west, but the rest of Asia,it is absolute murder trying to do anything online here, banking ,forget it ,i was told "only for Thai, not falang" at the bank, why,"no hab angrit on web sie" ye gods, one more month and i am away, were they do have angrit, and actually want to offer a level of service beyond the i could not care less mode.

Not true.

They were probably getting rid of you.

I have online banking with Bangkok Bank, SCB and Kasikorn.

All in English and work well.

For instance I am the family bank, receiving cash and sending it to some account ("ATM card") for the kids who are studying out of province. A no delay instant transaction for 0 to 25 Baht (depending on target bank).

I pay my IPTV through SCB, a couple of singular payments, move money between accounts etc.

I have also done a couple of online purchases.

Many sites are in Thai only and do hardly work at all, others (like invade and lazada) are in English and work fine.

As I can read some basic Thai and fill in my data in Thai I also did some deals with smaller sites (for tools, water filters, blood pressure meter, 3M respirator mask, mobile phone for wife and ???).

All things hard to get or expensive in the sticks.

I agree about Bangkok Bank, but I'm lukewarm about InvadeIT or Lazada. They work, but they ain't exactly NewEgg. Still, compared with most Thai sites they're very serviceable. As for the Thai government (and airline!) sites I've used ... Well, less said the better. It's a shame really since there are so many tools out there that make site coding pretty easy if you structure things properly. Ah, what do I know? But it sure is frustrating most of the time.

Kasikorn Bank you can set up internet banking from any Kasikorn ATM with just your ATM card and PIN number, nothing more required!
