Rental home. Responsibility of owner / tenant

Recommended Posts

The owner ended up coming and sorting it no problems. Even admitted he knew it was a problem for a long time..all around the home the foundations are weak. Looks like they probably filled it the say before they put the slab down as they do here. Water freely running under the foundations for a couple of years. No idea of preventative maintenance. Anyway, all sorted now. I'm probably down a couple of thousand baht in excess water. No biggy

Agent thai. Lease in Thai / Mrs translated (for what it's worth). Very basic 2 page lease agreement. The water problem is clearly a building / structural issue as opposed to damage to contents, non fixed items.

Surely the tenant isn't responsible for eg a water pipe broken in the wall or under the slab? Or are they?
