Officials to fight alleged forest encroachers in Nan

BANGKOK, 19 May 2016 (NNT) - Forestry Department director general Chollathit Surassavadee dispatched a team of officials to combat alleged forest encroachers in Nan province.

A national forest in Nam Tok county of Na Noi district is in an upstream area covering about over one million rai of land.

The department head said that he sent the officials in bid to create understanding with local villagers and allocate plots of forest land to the poor while the alleged forest encroachers will be cracked down by law.
