Phuket1
Question: Can you do the exstention of stay on a passport expiring within a year. My current passport expire Feb 2017 and my new passport should arrive in 2 weeks time. My arrival stamp ends July 6.
ubonjoe
There is no passport validity requirement to apply for an extension. If the extension was longer than the passport validity the extension would only be done to the date the passport expires. Since you new passport will be here before July 7th you would go to immigration with both passports. Immigration would transfer your entry stamp from the old passport to the new one and do the extension in it.
elviajero
Yes but the maximum extension you would receive would be until Feb 2017 using the expiring passport. If you are applying for a 1 year extension it is best to wait until you have the new passport Edited May 19, 2016 by elviajero
