Hammer attack leaves Phitsanulok chicken seller bloodied

BANGKOK: -- An older man with a hammer crept out of the undergrowth to attack a female chicken seller in her Phitsanulok shop on Thursday.

He then disappeared back from where he came with the woman's wallet containing 3,000 baht and her phone reported Thairath,

Police found 45 year old Kriangkrai Rianthong bloodied after being hit over the head. She was taken to hospital.The attack happened on the Phitsanulok - Lomsak road opposite the Thammachart Resort hotel near the Indochina intersection.

Bamrung Mantorm,50, who was working opposite in a wood yard said that he heard the victim cry out and that she told him she had been attacked by a man with short hair aged about fifty. He used a hammer and crept up on her from behind as she was sitting and selling chicken boiled in fish sauce in her shop.

The assailant, who had short hair and a light blue top, then disappeared back into the undergrowth behind her shop.

Bamrung tried to find the assailant on his bike without success and alerted authorities.

Later police said that they had detected a signal from the victim's phone being used in Ban Chai Nam, Wan Thong district of the north eastern town and alerted police there to this development.

I wish this unfortunate lady all the best to recover. I just hope the cops are on the ball peen and catch the bastard,.

Sure the cops will find the culprit, so what. There is a thai male that beats the shit out of a thai female, move along folks, nothing out of the ordinary here.

Another fowl attack by Thai male on Thai female with a hammer but at least she seems to be OK as she was able to give a brief description. I hope someone brings her some chicken soup.

I hear what you're saying. 3,000 Baht might not be a lot to you or me, but to a useless, penniless bum it'll buy a lot of (cheap) whiskey and somdam.

Hope she makes a swift and full recovery.
