Lost Chinese tourists found safe in Phuket wildlife sanctuary

PHUKET: Two Chinese tourists were found safe and well after getting lost while hiking in the Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary last night (May 20).

Thalang Police received a call at 8pm from Khao Phra Thaeo forestry officer Piyawat Sukon stating that two Chinese tourist, a man and woman, had got lost in the forest during a trek to Bang Pae waterfall.
Thalang Deputy Police Chief, Lt Col Amnoy Kraiwutianan explained, “Kusoldharm rescue workers and volunteers were called in to help search for two Chinese tourists who had not returned from a hike up to Bang Pae waterfall.

They should introduce wild tigers into that wildlife sanctuary - make it more of an 'adventure' for lost tourists coffee1.gif

oh dear.....with Chinese around....they would end in a soup....and the tiger penis in customs or black market.

It took officials two hours to find 33-year-old Shan Linag and 28-year-old Ms Geng Bei...

From personal experience of searching for lost tourists in that area, the lengthy time to find them has more to do with the fact that the park officials refuse to allow rescuers to shout or blow whistles, in case the sound wakes the tree spirits!!

I know this for a fact. Can you imagine searching for someone in a jungle and being ordered to pocket your whistle and only being allowed to whisper 'where are you?'
