Coffee loves in Thailand

Recommended Posts

If you guys love your coffee like me, then you know that 99% of the coffee in Thailand is crap!

I did fine one coffee that comes from Vietnam called "G7", you can fine it at Makro. You can also order it online.

For a 22 packs in a bag, it is only 90 baht, and that is the small bag. And for an 3 in1 instant coffee, it is great!

Trust me, you will love this coffee!

Trust me, you will love this coffee!

Very bold statement.

I'll bet you anything you will have people say this is the worst coffee they ever had and others may agree with you. Because you love it so much, does not mean everybody else ( especially coffee connoisseurs ) will like love it just as much. Not saying it isn't a great coffee or bad...I haven't tried it myself.

Also, I strongly disagree 99% of coffee in Thailand being crap. IF you are referring to instant coffee, MAYBE you are correct...I don't know, I never tried it before here. If you are talking about actual coffee beans to make coffee, you probably haven't tried too many varieties. Lots of good beans come from northern Thailand.

INSTANT ! coffee under the title of "coffee loves" ?

Are you joking cheesy.gif

One of the more disappointing look into a thread today.

Was hoping for a tip on real(!) coffee.

One of my irrevocable habits even after 5 years in Thailand: getting me decent coffee beans or grounded.

Either brought over by friends or buying Brazilian or Colombian coffee from BigC (Casino).

All the coffee from Vietnam or northern Thailand that I have seen is significantly more expensive.

I too was sucked in to this thread... to read about someone who loves instant coffee.

Well each to their own and all that but....

I thought MOST Vietnamese coffee is of the cheapest, nastiest robusta variety, exported to bulk up the more expensive arabica in various instant coffee brands... but, yes you can get excellent coffee also in Vietnam - just as you can in Thailand as very good coffee is grown in the north.

I recommend Bluekoff coffee...

http://www.bluekoff.com

particularly the A5 roast - great for espresso and aeropress etc.

I order a dozen 250gm packs at a time and get free delivery and discount, so price comes down to around 120 pr 125 baht a pack for the beans.

I tape over the small vent hole and put in the freezer - NOTE take out of freezer the night before you open it, so it can warm up to room temperature, otherwise condensation will be very bad news indeed on the beans.

An easier reasonable alternative from Foodland and other supermarkets is Boncafe 'All Day' blend - better than their other blends and ok but not up,to the Bluekoff quality.
