Hi

I'm hiring a salesman (or woman) to sell sports accessories to various sports shops all over Thailand. My company will "lend" this sales person a set of samples for him/her to go around to show customers and collect orders.

I'd like to know if anyone could please share some experiences, ideas, etc about the Remuneration Package that I should prepare for this sales person.

I know there must be certain fundamentals that should be in the package, such as:

1) Basic Salary - how much basic salary does a junior Sales person get normally?

2) Commission - what's the average commission that the sales person must get every month, supposing his/her sales is normal, not spectular and not too bad either.

3) Transportation - if this sales person owns a car, how much do I have to reimburse for the transport? And if he/she doesn't have a car, what's the norm for the transport reimbursement?

4) Travelling expenses - In case this sales person has to go to other provinces outside bangkok, what should I take note of when it comes to the reimbursement?

Others - are there any other areas which I should consider or be careful of?

I heard that many companies require their staff to place a deposit when they start work, or get someone to guarantee him/her. I was thinking of asking for a deposit too, considering the fact that the samples that we're gonna lend him/her is worth a lot of money. How should I determine how much deposit this sales person should put?

I would really appreciate some advice or sharing of experiences from people who has ever worked as sales person or people who has ever computed the remuneration package for their sales staff.

Thank you!
