Had the 12 month permission of stay transferred yesterday at CW . They said I need to transfer reentry stamp at don mueang airport as that's where it was issued. Is this a simple process, meaning what do I provide. At cw I needed to supply copy of every used page of old pp and copy of info page on new pp and fill in form. 42 photocopies in total!

Flying out sat. Just need to know what to take.

When you get to the Immigration Officers at the airport tell them you need to transfer your Re-Entry permit to your new passport, they should direct you into the office behind them. In that same office they may stamp you out.

When I bought my Re-Entry permit at Don Muang last week, they stamped me out in the same office.

If there is a large line, tell one of the Immigration Officers who is just standing there on the side, and he will direct you into the office quickly, getting you out of the line up.

I have had 2 Re-entry permits within 20 days, the first time I brought copies, of visa, extension and first page of passport, the last time I took copies of every page of passport because I had one lying around, they did not request them, as another poster replied, I think that they will make them for you.

It was the most efficient Immigration office I have seen in Thailand, in and out in 5 minutes. The first time there was candy in a bowl for you to help yourself.

You could always bring a photocopy to show them that you are prepared. They will also take your photo there.

If copies are needed, DM will make them for you. The process should be straightforward although I doubt they do this often

Thanks brittim. I notice you always try give assistance to members. ...many people obtain reentry permit at airport. Frankly I can't imagine a better way to obtain one. Fact is this was a simple question but met with limited solid advice. Zero from all the experts. Note I appreciate Col..and your input. I will post my experience sat arvo as I try to fly to Japan.

Just through immigration at don mueang. Went to reentry permit office. Very friendly io advised me that they do not transfer the reentry permit stamp (was issued at DM). Told to just travel with both passports.
