DDPM: Thirty-seven provinces declared drought-affected zones

BANGKOK, 6 June 2016 (NNT) – Thirty-seven provinces have been declared drought-affected zones as part of an alternative plan to provide water supply is now underway, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM).

DDPM Director General Chatchai Promlert announced that a total of 10,034 villages in 241 districts of the 37 provinces have been declared as drought-affected zones.

The DDPM has appointed local government units to assess the availability of water resources in all affected villages to execute plans to ensure water availability. Those in areas with insufficient water resources are urged to work with the local agencies to find and develop new water resources and set up water distribution units.

The DDPM director general said that the agency, the provincial authorities and military units are carrying out rainmaking operations in areas above major dams whenever weather conditions are suitable.

Meanwhile, all the villagers and parties are advised to use water conservatively, use it optimumly and efficiently and follow weather forecasts from the Meteorological Department to plan their cultivation accordingly and ensure sustainable water availability for consumption and environmental protection throughout the dry season.

Members of the public affected by the disaster are advised to call Emergency Hotline 1784 to request assistance around the clock.

Yep I can definitely see the guiding hand of "management" in these figures.

And yet, within the past week, the same government stated that the drought this year has had no worse an affect than the non-drought-affected last year.

Were they lying then or are they lying now?

Seriously, you can't believe a single thing these dreadful people say. They lie even when there is no need to lie, It's the natural state of mind for them.; to lie in their teeth. The option of first resort, always.
