Deputy PM says NCPO will not interfere with police reshuffle

BANGKOK, 7 June 2016 (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan is confident that the annual reshuffling of police officers will be carried out successfully, affirming that the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) will not intervene.

Gen Prawit spoke of the recent discovery of errors on the reassignment list, saying he is confident the matter will be resolved successfully. He revealed that some officers had been included on the list, despite their violation of Article 112 of the Criminal Code, because some of the officers had yet to be officially discharged.

Gen Prawit blamed the errors on the police's outdated database, which has remained unchanged for 30 years. The issue rests with the discretion of Royal Thai Police Commissioner-General Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda. Gen Prawit affirmed that the NCPO will not intervene unless the Royal Thai Police fails to resolve the matter.

Gen Prawit also spoke of the detainment of Phra Dhammajayo of Wat Phra Dhammakaya temple by the Department of Special Investigation, saying the authorities are handling the case in accordance with legal procedures. He assured that he and the Prime Minister are not worried about the matter.

"...Gen Prawit blamed the errors on the police's outdated database, which has remained unchanged for 30 years".

Yeah, blame the poor old database (and ignore reality).

Who wants to mess with the biggest mafia in Thailand?

Did you know the the computers which are connected for the USA Nuke bombs, run on 30 year old Floppy Disc ??

Shuffle, gives other people a chance to stick there noses in the public trough!

I am guessing a critical part of the reshuffle is the logistics and re-direction of the envelopes to the listed receivers at their new locations. Getting all those brown ducks in line before pressing the transfer "go" button would be some feat.

Weird. That's exactly the opposite of what Prayuth said yesterday.

BANGKOK, 7 June 2016 (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has said that the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police must correct the errors in this year’s officer reassignment list, and that he will intervene if the problem remains unresolved.

Left hand, right hand. no know?

Doesn't do much for the credibility of either muppet party really...

Not quiet the opposite.

It's the small two letter "if" in-between, as in "will intervene if the problem remains unresolved"

The difference being possible interference in solving problems and no interference in the actual reshuffle should be noted as well.

The NCPO doesn't really need to interfere, they appointed the guy in charge of the reshuffle.....

Yes, I read that. Nuts. They said they were going to update them since the story leaked. At least they didn't try to deny it, or make excuses.

When you get your nuggets of interesting information from John Olivier then you shouldn't be bragging about it on the internet. Millions of people watch his show...

The Government presumably realises that the public will be better protected if certain high ranking police officers are replaced with dead people.

THank you, thank you. I'm really honored.

Mind you, you remind me of English Tabloits. Almost right, but a bit twisted to (try to) make it look 'better'.

What database would that be that Thailamd would possess that could possibly be 30 years old?

Pen,paper and stuffed envelope, maybe?
