Once I stumbled into the Tavern Bar on soi 4 and a decade later I count some of the people I met there good friends. In the late eighties and early nineties. I loved hitting the Plaza solo Sunday afternoon. You were almost guaranteed a good conversation. Ditching into Woodstock or any of the old places was great. Times have changed surely. Going to a pub on your own and making smalltalk with strangers at the bar seems like something old men used to do. Sure, I've been travelling on my own, a bunch of times. I wonder how many are even aware of Private Dancer now, I only actually read it myself a few years ago. Big Ron aka Big Dave is/was apparently doing quite well and now in the Bristol area and has his kids with him. Also a taste for real ale. I am obviously younger than you as I suspect I have been at it a lot longer and therefore have more knowledge and experience of it than you. This "stuff" that you do with people you "meet" does it involve rubbing coconut oil or sunscreen factor 38 onto each other??
