Min of Commerce inviting Thai businesses to expand to the Maldives

BANGKOK, 10 June 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Commerce is inviting Thai businesses to expand to the Maldives, as part of its policy to foster new markets abroad.

The Department of International Trade will organize a networking event for Thai businessmen during the upcoming meeting of trade ministers of Thailand and the Maldives on June 28 - 30.

High-potential industries include agricultural products, such as rice, frozen seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables, fruit juice, snacks, and condiments. Other target industries include furniture, Muslim clothing, construction materials, motorcycle parts, and hospitality.

Businesses that are interested in the networking event can find more information at the Department of International Trade.

Please tell me I am dreaming , the bloody Maldives will be under water in ten years time................................coffee1.gif

no but the MIN of Commerce is ! smile.png

Grasping at straws, as might be the Islanders soon?

Beginning of an exodus perhaps? First a trickle then a flood, and the Maldives is close and wealth-friendly. Apart from the risk of rising sea-levels.

The writing's been on the wall for a little while. But why would the Commerce Ministry encourage Thai businesses to expand/relocate overseas? Commissions for somebody maybe?

Thais cannot even pronounce Maldives. If you say that to them they look at you if you have 2 heads.

Say "Man Div" and they might know ....

Meanwhile, Thailand is screaming for expansion.........exports crashing, consumer interest waning badly and how many businesses have shut their doors...... and the government urges businesses to go to the Maldives.....which is slowly but surely sinking.....can't make this idiocy up!!

Are we sinking?
