Foreign investors interested in electric train project

BANGKOK: -- Investors from Canada, France and Germany have expressed interest in joining the electric train bidding, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister MR Pridiyathorn Devakula said Monday.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the ambassadors of Canada, France and Singapore at the Government House Monday, Pridiyathorn said all the ambassadors have questioned for details of the five electric rail routes.

"Ambassadors from Britain and Germany have also asked questions. All want to know details of the bidding," he said, adding that the government's policy is to allow all interested parties to join the bidding.

"There would be no prefixing of the construction specification," he said.
