NLA approves declaration on reparations for criminal defendants proven innocent

BANGKOK, 24 June 2016 (NNT) – The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has voted to approve the use of legislation ensuring repayment and damages for defendants in criminal cases overturned by courts.

NLA Chairman Pornpetch Wichitcholchai led the assembly in considering a declaration to provide reparations and damage payments for defendants in criminal cases overturned while on trial. The declaration amends portions of existing legislation to guarantee a set amount of reparations for criminal defendants deemed innocent by a court or who have had their case discontinued.

The session also discussed legislation to do with petroleum focusing on upgrading current laws to fit with alternative energy goals and energy security as well as on amending legislation to allow the government to create sharing concessions for fuel surveyors.

His posts are normally brief, incisive and well-though-out. Sometimes a bit of topic-wander but that's the nature of the world, things overlap. Except for the junta-huggers, for whom everything is on boxes. Marked 'Thaksin <remember to slag him off 5 times today or I just won't be able to do anything>'.
