Kath police investigating stabbing death of Myanmar migrant worker

PHUKET: A 72-year-old Thai man has admitted to police that he stabbed a 49-year-old migrant worker from Myanmar whose body was found on a gravel road last night in Kathu.

Kathu police were alerted of the killing last night at 8.40pm. Investigators and rescue workers reported to the scene, near the entrance to a migrant worker's camp on a gravel road near a popular golf course in Kathu's Moo 5, where they found a lifeless body lying in a puddle of blood in the middle of the road.
Police noted stab wounds on the man's stomach and rear side of the man's left shoulder. A trail of blood led police to a small hut 20 metres away, where they a Thai man who was named as Anun Chuaiupakan, 72, who lived in the hut, a bloody kitchen knife was found and collected as evidence.
