NLA holds bilateral talks with President of Belarus

BANGKOK, 30 June 2016 (NNT) – The President of the National Legislative Assembly held bilateral talks with the President of Belarus during his official visit to the country in the past week.


NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai and a group of members of the legislature traveled to Belarus to undertake a visit between June 24 and 30, following an invitation from the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko.

The Thai delegation attended a bilateral meeting with Mr. Andreichenko, during which Belarus recognized Thailand’s role in Southeast Asia and its potential to help achieve a ASEAN-Eurasia collaboration at all levels.

Mr. Pornpetch also held bilateral talks with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. They both mentioned the more than 24 years of good relations between the two countries.

President Lukashenko also confirmed Belaus’s support for Thailand while asking for a speedy consideration of trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.
