PHUKET: -- An 18-year-old Phuket woman gave birth to a healthy 3.8 kilo baby in a car at 9:30am this morning (July 1) with the help of her brother-in-law and a Chalong traffic cop. The woman has named the girl Nong Baimon.

Snr Sgt Maj Somboon Khanpetch, chief of the traffic police at Chalong Police Station revealed that while he was on duty at Chalong Circle on Chao Fa East Rd a Honda City had stopped and its driver was calling for help.

“The driver shouted that there was a woman, Ms Chadaporn Kongsamoot, 18, from Trang, on the back seat ready to give birth. I ordered all traffic at the circle to move aside to let the vehicle pass to go to Chalong Hospital which is about 500 metres from the Circle,” he said.

And females still spend fortunes at private hospitals to give birth wink.png

Hope the baby lives are long and happy life.

The title is misleading,

The policeman did his job managing the traffic so the woman could get to the hospital on time .

Congrats to the young Mom and baby clap2.gif

How much did she have to pay him?And 3.8 kilo's is a pretty heavy weight for a Thai baby.Thats like European birth weight. In pounds thats around 7 1/2,isnt it.I thought Thai babies weighed in at about 2 1/2 kilo's.

Thailand needs to show more cops like this cop..................... Lets promote more good images of Thailand (but not by hiding the bad images)
