Lao premier scheduled to visit Thailand on July 5-6, 2016

BANGKOK, 2 July 2016 (NNT) – Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand on July 5-6, 2016, to tighten Thai-Lao relationships.

The Lao premier will lead a team of ministerial-level officials on the visit to Thailand following an invitation from his Thai counterpart Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The Lao premier is scheduled to arrive to Bangkok on July 5, 2016, and to attend a welcome dinner hosted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakra Sirindhorn at Sra Pathum Palace, Bangkok, and to meet with the Thai premier in the morning of July 6, 2016 at Government House.

Both leaders will discuss regional connectivity and infrastructure development strategy, trade and investment promotion, cooperation in labor affairs, cross-border tourism promotion and will sign agreements on cooperation in labor, labor protection, skills development and employment.

The Lao premier is scheduled to travel to Khon Kaen province to receive an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration in Management from Rajamangala University of Technology at Isarn Khon Kaen campus.

Mr. Thongloun will give a lecture on “Laos toward the future of development” at Khon Kaen University and grant medals of friendship to the Thai-Laos Friendship Association.

Mr. Thongloun's visit to Thailand is the first since his inauguration as prime minister of Laos.
