Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor and author, dead at 87

NEW YORK (AP) — Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel, the Romanian-born Holocaust survivor whose classic "Night" became a landmark testament to the Nazis' crimes and launched Wiesel's long career as one of the world's foremost witnesses and humanitarians, has died at age 87.

Cavendish honors D-Day after Utah Beach Tour de France win

Thai Government Says Unruly Students Engaged in Brawls May be Conscripted into Military Service

Several times per month I am forced to answer some curious foreigner’s question, “Why do you live in Thailand?” Invariably, I answer with one word; “freedom”. I proudly state that I was born and raised to believe you should live in a free country, and now I do.

PHUKET: A 36-year-old Chinese tourist has died after being pulled from a resort swimming pool in Kamala last night (July 2). Police have yet to confirm whether the man drowned.

A driver and two monks escape unhurt after their vehicle was rammed by a train

KANCHANABURI: A pickup truck driver and two monks miraculously escaped death or injury when the vehicle in which they were travelling was rammed by a train at a railway crossing in Saiyoke district of Kanchanaburi Saturday afternoon.
