A friend wants to send some 2nd hand toys to some kids in Thailand from Australia. Has anyone had any experience with customs as the recipients would not be able to pay expensive customs on a comparatively small package.

Its not about size its about value.. so it really depends on the value... if it is not electronics and well used it (and showing it) it might not attract tax. Marking it gift does not help.
