NRSA has reviewed plans to reform political parties and local administrative system

BANGKOK, 6 July 2016 (NNT) – The National Reform Steering Assembly has completed a review of reports that suggest a reform of political parties and local administrative systems.

At the NRSA sitting on Tuesday, members of the assembly took time to review the report on reform of the political party system.

In the report, it was suggested that political parties should be developed to become political institutions of the people where all will share genuine political principles without being influenced by anyone or anything.

In achieving this objective, the structure and the membership of each political party must be overhauled and all must enter into a social pact while focusing on the rule of democracy and allowing public participation.

The NRSA then moved on to look at the report on the reform of local administration, which proposes some legal changes related to the impeachment of members of local administrative organizations, the mandatory public disclosure of data and operational details of local administrative organizations as well as encouragement of public participation in addressing common problems.
