DPM calls for all sides to help ensure safety of tourists

LOEI, 7 July 2016 (NNT) – The deputy prime minister has called for greater care for visitors to the nation while pointing out tourist perceptions of Thailand have improved.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Thanasak Patimaprakorn, while chairing the opening of the “Chiang Kan Safe City” project, stated that at present the tourism industry is highly competitive but noted that Thailand still has a very strong image among international travelers due to its natural beauty, hospitality and unique cultural traditions.

He pointed out however, that all travelers care for their safety and called for all relevant agencies to work to their utmost to ensure the security of Thailand’s visitors.

The Chiang Kan Safe City project was established to apply sustainable tourism principles from the World Tourism Organization to the popular destination with an emphasis on security systems and prevention of crime.
