Travel to Baghdad.

Featured Replies

I want to travel to Baghdad to see Thailand v Iraq World Cup Qualifier on 11th October. Cheapest I can find is about 35,000 Baht via Istanbul with Turkish Airways. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Think you will find that Iraq will be playing their home games outside of Iraq. I believe some earlier games were played in Iran, so that may be used again.

Looks like Iraq's game against Saudi Arabia is due to be played in KL - but unlikely to be the location of the Thai game, but you never know.

So, I wouldn't go booking any flights to Baghdad if I were you - even if the game was being played there. smile.png

I believe they have moved it to Damascus.

I am not trolling or flaming but, really why would you travel to somewhere like Baghdad and stand in a target rich environment like a football stadium?

Nonsense OP the game will not be played in Iraq.

They've been banned since 2013.

However, on 3 July 2013, FIFA barred Iraq from hosting international football friendlies due to a massive surge in nationwide violence, barely three months after world football's governing body gave Baghdad the go-ahead.
