Food Restrictions On Entering Thailand?

Featured Replies

Anyone know the food restrictions on entering Thailand? Or an offical link where I can find them?

Thanks, :o

I haven't heard about them and was bringing different foods as presents. Ta play safe they should be properly packed, the best in their original packaging.

same the other way round - from Bangkok to London, customs never confiscated any foods but they asked what it is. Meat products might be restricted - would depend on the circumstances whether they confiscate them.

What about butter and cheese?

I had my meat product confiscated going to US even though is was processed lunchmeat not fresh meat, but I think they had sandwiches for lunch.

coming to Thailand I always bring a 30kilo suitcase of processed food never a problem, 1 time I brought whole frozen mangos from Hawaii thinking they would prohibit fresh but allow frozen, but Thai ag. told me no problems to bring in fresh no need to freeze.

Was the meat packaged or not? I took meat products like sausages etc to US. I declared on the form that I have meat products and custom agents asked me what they were. They were prepacked products and there was no problem. They simply waved me through.
