BANGKOK: -- A fresh-water alligator was found happily sunbathing beside the water reservoir that supplies a village’s tap water before getting caught by villagers in Nakhon Sawan province.

The reptile was found lying at the edge of the reservoir in Nong Bua district. It’s a male and estimated to be about five years old and 1.7 meters.

The little guy was found by a villager who went to the reservoir to fish, as he does everyday. Frightened, he dropped his fishing kit and called the police.

This is bad omen! Sign of things to come!

Might finish up as a purse in Siam Paragon next week.

Perhaps Coconuts should hire a writer that knows the difference between a Crocodile and an Alligator.

That "Alligator" looks a lot like a crocodile.

That's a fresh water croc numb nuts! Gators live in the US better check it's passport.

When is the BBQ?

Little?

I know where he's going though.

So no point in looking for a magic lottery number then....

Also live in China, but passport check might be required.

1.7 metres is five and a half feet. I wouldn't call the 'little' - imagine getting a hefty bite.

any children missing?

I see three crocs in that picture.

I see three crocs in that picture.

5555 well spotted.....actually you mean 3 pairs?? plus the original of course.

Just nice for a wallet, a belt and a pair of tasselled loafers.

well a couple of weeks back when we were driving over the local bridge I was pretty sure I saw what looked very much like a small croc(under a metre) sun baking in the shallows. Didnt have a camera so couldnt get a pic but I have seen quite a lot of crocs over the years in Australia and know what they look like, the jaw line/snout was too long to be a water monitor, didnt say anything because I didnt want to start something, cant really see any way for one to be there, there is no way to explain how it got there although there were crocs in the area many years ago.

Sunbathing? Well, get some suntan lotion on that poor little thing! And where are the parents? I tell you, parents today are so irresponsible.

Looks like he has a yellow identification tag on his tail.

Isn't the Bueng Boraphet Aquarium near the reservoir (https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g790334-d4322801-r194795249-Bueng_Boraphet_Aquarium-Nakhon_Sawan_Nakhon_Sawan_Province.html)?

The tag doesn't seem to appear in the two other photos so maybe the Fishery Department people who came to take it away tagged it.

"Looks like he has a yellow identification tag on his tail."

You mean the yellow flip flops on someone standing next to his tail?

Since when is a 1.7m croc a "little guy? When I saw the headline I expected maybe 50cm.

Nah, its a yank alligator from Florida, just popped over to Thailand for a nose job

Poor thing. Leave it where it was.

Wish they would reintroduce the native Siamese Crocodile back here... they could keep down the street dog and feral cat populations.
