Leaving your valuables in the front basket – why do people still do it?

At 1am on the morning of July 24 the Pattaya police were called after a bag was snatched by two scooter riders outside the Kratinglai Tough Coat Anti Rust Garage on Sukhumvit Road.

The victim, twenty-eight-year-old Ms. Suree Puangsombat, was very shaken but managed to report to officers that she had finished her shift at a local hotel and was riding home.

At a set of traffic lights two men pulled up alongside her on a new, orange Honda Dream without a license plate. She said she gave them a friendly smile and then, without warning, the passenger lent forwards, grabbed her bag from the front basket and they sped off.

More importantly, do you still have the box it came in?

The answer?

Attach a bunch of razor blades to the purse and look for the culprit at the nearest emergency room.

The punks will be caught but the money and replacement cost of the purse and the inconvenience will be hers to bear.

Really a shame.

Stop the press...!!!.......Thai steals a handbag off of another Thai ---------it must have been a real quite week-end in Pattaya................coffee1.gif

The danger or the stupidity.

Was she busy using her phone at the time?

Surprised her helmet wasn't in there.

some people will pinch anything if it is plain view and easily accessible...

She was lucky that the bag was in the basket.

She could have been wearing it and been kicked off the motorbike , been badly injured, and still have had her bag stolen,

Bag snatching......

I walked through the corridors of the local hospital and was amazed how many people had taken their bags with them in the 'long stay' corridor.......

Clearly a result of the sign all over the place NOT to leave your valuables unattended.

Nothing new here. Everyone knows do not wear gold necklaces on any beach road

in Thailand and do not leave your purse in the front basket of your scooter anywhere

in Thailand. whistling.gif

I carry my cobras for 'milking' at a reptile place. I certainly hope they don't steal them. Hot cobras, anyone?

Valuables ? These jerks stole our 40 THB veggies from the basket, whilst in 7/11...

The answer?

Attach a bunch of razor blades to the purse and look for the culprit at the nearest emergency room.

You're too soft........what about a hand grenade with pin attached to the basket.........approx. 5-10 second before it explodes while the bag is most probably in between the two fleeing thieves.....ouch.
