Overnight Mountain Hiking/Climb in Thailand - we are from BKK

Featured Replies

Hi,

We are group of friends who would like to Climb/Hike a mountain in Thailand. Where we could go up there to the peak and stay over the night in the campsite (we need a guide as well).

We are a group of 5 - 7 people from Bangkok - we are willing to rent a minivan and travel where the mountain is.

We are all beginners, so we need the not so hard mountain to hike. Maybe 5-6 hours going up and another 5-6 hours going down.

We have no idea where we can do this.

We would like to ask for your suggestions for the place - also for the ideal month to do so.

Cheers

Phu Kradeung, Loei province. A steep climb of 3 - 4 hours, and about the same going down. For a base camp, use Chumphae, Khon Kaen province, It is closer to both Bangkok and to the mountain than is Loei city. With the rainy season now upon us, I think Phu Kradeung is now closed until about Nov.1. Nice in winter; Thai's go there to photograph the frost.
