Best Budget Accommodation in Thailand?

Featured Replies

I will be traveling to Thailand for 3 weeks in October for my tummy tuck surgery. So one of the staff of placidway told me about the beautiful places to go in Thailand so i decided that after recovering my my TT surgery I will extend my vacation. But I am on a pretty tight budget and was wondering where the best budget accommodations are. I also plan on traveling to Phuket and some other Islands. As well if anyone can give me some advice of where the best towns/cities are to visit (as well as places to stay in these towns) in order to meet other young travelers. I really want to experience Thai culture, but have been working in southern Asia for several months now and would also really like to get some partying out of my system.

You are having major abdominal surgery and think you will go "island hopping and partying" after ???

Either you have no clue about your upcoming procedure or are not being realistic. I hope you have very good health/medical insurance.

You want to meet young people but are old enough to need a tummy tuck?

There are budget accommodations all over Thailand.  Just depends on what you want to do.  Beaches, mountains, etc.

For young people, follow the backpacker trail.  Sadly, you'll see very little of the "authentic" Thailand.  Kinda sad people travel all the way over here and then just hang out with other backpackers in places like Khao San Road, Pai or Koh Phangan.

Make sure you're getting the procedure done at a proper and well vetted facility.  Stories abound of people having major problems here.  There is no way to go after the clinic or doctor if something goes wrong.  And many are not properly certified.  Regardless of what their certificate says.
