BANGKOK: -- The Thanyaburi Provincial Court today agreed to the proposal of the Pathumthani provincial police to issue warrants for the arrest of 19 devotees of Phra  Dhammachayo on charges of blocking the police from trying to arrest the abbot on June 16.

Named as the first among the list of 19 suspects is Ms Jirapha Rairod, who led thousands of devotees of the abbot to block the arrest attempt by the officials of the Department of Special Investigation.

Royal Thai Police deputy commissioner Pol Gen Srivara Rangsipramanakul said in addition to the 19 devotees of Phra Dhammachayo, Klong Luang police station also summoned four monks and juristic person to acknowledge charges of illegal assembly of more than five persons, blocking police arrest attempt, and having military equipment (barbed wire) in possession without official permit.

Has the 19 left the country then ,this why have arrest warrants?

What country is this? The police wants to summon someone to the police station then they get the paperwork from the competent authorities, the court - whoever and just proceed.
If this man of the cloth is having nothing to hide then I seriously wonder, why he is hiding behind his following underlings. Law and order - taken to new heights, self-explanatory indeed!

A special committee will be set up next week to discuss how to serve the warrants.

I wonder how long this farce can be drawn out.
