August 7, 201610 yr My wife is due to hand in her application for a standard visitor visa this Thursday. However, when it comes to the supporting documents we are not clear on their return. We will , of course , be taking all original documentation plus color copies as well as relevant translations. What we would like to know is whether upon inspection by the Trendy staff of all original documents are they satisfied to only forward the copies to the British Embassy or are the original documents retained as well. On her last visit her chanote and tabien bahn were immediately returned and only the copiers retained. Is this still the case as we are both loath to part with documents that will be extremely difficult to replace in the unlikely but possible event loss. Thanks in advance.
August 8, 201610 yr I acted as sponsor for my stepson's application last month. Submitted lots of stuff but the only docs kept by the embassy were my cover letter, copies of my bank statements and a copy of the front page of my passport. Everything else returned. I was surprised by the speed. Application handed in pm Thursday, message Friday am letting us know they'd forwarded it to the embassy and then an email from the embassy Monday morning informing us that a decision had been made. Anxious wait as passport return was delayed by the holiday but was back with us by Friday with visa. With the exception of bank statements, all docs forwarded were copies Edited August 8, 201610 yr by tahaan Omission
