I will be retiring to Phuket in the next few months and am interested to get comments Thai banks. Any in particular handle farangs well ? general comments welcome but Phuket experience would be particularly usefull

sorry, as it was personal i did not drill down to the business section!

 

You might want to indicate nationality and if going to have banking there also - Bangkok Bank has special transfer options for those from US/UK that might be attractive if from there.  

Bangkok Bank has a page on its website to assist foreigners, still residing abroad, who wish to open a bank account in Thailand.To the best of my knowledge, they are the only bank which does. I have no particular knowledge re Phuket.

This is general information for opening once in Thailand and about transfer options.  Accounts are actually opened at local branch banks here in Thailand.
