Animal rescue Pattaya area and beyond.

Saw a dog who looked liked it had been run over (skin missing both sides) but still alive and walking about, probably in shock, between ban ampur and ban sare after using public transportation.  After numerous phone attempts I gave up.  Are there any services that will come and pick up an injured dog and either give it the medical attention it needs or put it down (preferably 24/7and  ideally without me having to foot the bill.)  These are common services in the west, anything like it here?  What are the other options under such circumstances besides walking away?

As far as I know Tony (yes, the guy on the gym posters) has some sort of rescue dog place on the way to Sattahip. Staff at his gyms might know who to contact about it.

I felt very small after that.  Plus the person I was with convinced me to move on.  Perhaps an excuse.  I believe I saw the car that hit him and drove off (imagine doing that!), i stopped another car for help, no interest.  It is a culture where these things don't matter that much.  Maybe also an excuse.   The people on the phone were asking if i had a muzzle.  All VERY complicated.

In Pattaya/Thailand YOU are the animal rescue service. If you see an animal in distress and feel the urge to help, pick it up and take it to a vet. Vet clinics are a dime a dozen in Pattaya and charges are cheap compared to Western countries. Also, most vets have pickup services...stop by anead of time and get their numbers and then when you see an injured animal, stop and give them a call and wait for them to arrive; stay on scene until they arrive to take care of the financials.
