thaibeachlovers
Disregarding prices, would September or December be better to visit Langkawi? Thanks.
craigt3365
Big difference regarding rain: http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/et-si-je-me-servais-du-petit-roumi-pour-aplatir-le-petit-bougnoule-sur-le-bitume.639767/ I think December would be fantastic. SOUTHERNSTAR
Be careful for December as you could face the haze. It can be very bad, grounding aircraft and cause breathing problems.

The smoke haze should be well gone by then ! last year was the worst, and air there was fine by early november
Altalake
Has anyone done a visa run from Phuket - we have heard you can drive down and take the ferry? End of January is the Plan! Any good places to stay for a day or two? Any advice on accommodation/things to do etc. etc. would be much appreciated.
thaibeachlovers
Thanks to all that answered. Seems like December is the time to go. To Altalake. I've been researching it on google. More than enough there. You can take the ferry from Satun to Langkawi.

Thus the haze could not be gone in November as it havent started yet.
CNXBKKMAN
The Indo haze that is affecting Singapore now is the same haze that if you are unlucky can get as far as the top end of Malaysia and Langkawi, even the very south of Thailand. It doesn't always get to Langkawi though. Late August, September and October are usually the bad months. The smoke is coming from Indonesia and Borneo so the Thai dry/cool season has nothing to do with it.
