Thais Want Unique Products

Cambodian products are unique and that is what makes them attractive to Thais, said an official from the Thai Exhibition Association yesterday. Sarnit Karunyavanij, director of the Thai Exhibition Association, said Cambodia’s products like dried fish and other agricultural products were unique and in demand in neighboring Thailand.
 

“For dried fish from Cambodia, I think there are a lot of opportunities to export to Thailand even though its price is higher. It’s one of a kind, not found anywhere,” said Mr. Sarnit. “To attract consumer demand, Cambodian products should be unique and also be competitive in their pricing,” he added.
 

Mr. Sarnit said he wants Cambodian producers in the agriculture, fisheries and handicraft sectors to exhibit their products in Thailand this year. There were about 16 Cambodian booths at last year’s Thailand Exhibition Trade show, and most of them were displaying handicraft products.Sou Dara, deputy director general of the trade promotion department at the Ministry of Commerce, said he welcomed Mr. Sarnit’s plan to get more Cambodian producers to exhibit their products in Thai trade exhibitions.
