FireMedic
Hey guys I also posted in the visa section, but there are no replies and totally forgot this might be a better forum. I'm moving to Singapore and my company says I need a marriage cert or a cert of cohabitation so my gf can get a dependent pass to Singapore. Does anyone have an idea what that is or how to get that in Thailand?
happylarry
I asked my wife and she has never heard of such a certificate so it looks like you will have to get married.....lol HL
FireMedic
Yeah I don't think there is either, but maybe he's just referencing something from other countries and thinks it's available in Thailand.
thaihome
Common law or de facto marriage is not recognized under Thai civil code. Likely never will be as this is used by many rich couples to avoid complications with common property while married. You can get a socially accepted marriage ceremony without any of the legal issues of a registered marriage. The former PM is classic case of this. Even the not so rich use this if there is family land spread across siblings. TH
