Mayor in Chiang Rai shot dead by lone gunman 

 

 

CHIANG RAI: -- The mayor of Pa Ngiew Tambon municipality in Wiang Papao district of Chiang Rai was shot dead while he was dining in front of his house last night.

 

Wiang Papao district police said the mayor, Prasit Koluang, was dining with friends in front of his house when a lone gunman hiding in darkness near the house fence fired at him with shotgun.

revenge killing or mercenary attack.

That's a image that will haunt those who were with him for a long time to come. 

But as sahibji said, either a revenge killing or mercenary attack.

Indeed - shotgun blast is extremely messy.

 

What I am wondering is why more people were not injured or killed. It is difficult to judge from the photo, but the distance from the fence to the table looks far enough that the shooter was not up close and personal with the target. A shotgun sprays a wide array that would have hit other people.

So,Who owed him the most money or favors ? The BIL should look there first

You can get rounds for a shotgun that are a projectal and carry a very big punch.

A full choke shotgun will have a pullet pattern with a 12 inch diameter at about 15 meters. Or as gchurch259 suggested it could have been a pumpkin ball or rifle slug which would put a massive hole in someone.

Soicy story if the truth is revealed but would they reveal the truth that is hiding in the deep G triangle? 

Hum I don't have any idea why this man was killed but i will comment on the shot gun and the distance, The killer could have easaly been using slugs so no pattern  spread 

Trying to stay alive is Job-number-1 for top officials in Thailand. 

Wifey's uncle was a local mayor several years ago. He is licensed to carry a concealed weapon because of threats he received whilst in office. Whenever there was a contract up for offer there were always several bidders but only one winner which is one way to make enemies.
