CDC working on draft political party law

BANGKOK, 8 September 2016 (NNT) – The Constitution Drafting Commission has begun working on a draft political party law.

CDC Chairman Meechai Ruchuphan said on Wednesday that the charter rafters have already received the draft political party law from the Election Commission and may decide to invite representatives from the EC to discuss the content of the draft.

Concerning the EC’s reported idea to make the formation, the operation and the dissolution of any party difficult, Mr. Meechai said that the CDC has not discussed such conditions yet because the approved content of the draft Constitution must first be taken into consideration.

He added that the CDC will organize a seminar to listen to ideas of qualified people and groups at the end of this month as the charter drafters hope to analyze experienced politicians’ opinions before applying any ideas to the drafting of related organic laws.
