World's oldest man, Yisrael Kristal, 113, to hold bar mitzvah

HAIFA: -- The world's officially oldest man is to finally have his bar mitzvah at the age of 113 - a century after he missed it due to the outbreak of World War One.

Yisrael Kristal, who lives in Israel, will celebrate the Jewish coming-of-age ceremony with family and friends in a synagogue in Haifa, his daughter said.

Shulamit Kuperstoch said it would be a "corrective experience". Mr Kristal was born in Poland in 1903 and survived being in the Auschwitz death camp during World War Two.

Why not, he had his foreskin removed again when he turned 100!    To life, to life,  L'chaim !

Congrats to be bar mitzvah boy but 113 doesn't sound like the oldest person on the planet.

They'll have to hoist him in his wheelchair.

He's getting married too?

But wait. There's more. The story of Yisrael Kristal (with SUBTITLES):

And they say they can't find anyone who can testify against War Criminals anymore.

Hell! This guy is so old that he could testify against War Criminals from WWI and WWII.

Man! I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to live to be his age. Also through 2 World Wars and a Great Depression.

His daughter is putting on this Bar Mitzvah. How old is she? Maybe 93 years old? His Grand Kids would be 73 already?

Sure would be funny to find out later that his mother also attended his Bar Mitzvah.

He probably will remember watching Charlie Chaplin as a kid ...

Sounds like a wonderful celebration. If he missed his Bris I'd probably skip that one, if I were him.

"They" being yourself on a parallel topic:

Where are you going to find any witness still alive who can testify against him anyway?

His daughter would be in her mid to late 60's. His mother died in 1910.

If he wanted to be very kind and extend an olive branch, he would invite that 95 year old medic from Germany.

No more people living who were born in the 19th century.... time marches on... When did the last person born in the 1800's die? When I was born everyone over 59 was born in the 1800's.

I thought some people were making it to 120's. Perhaps unofficially only.
