BANGKOK, 19 September 2016 (NNT) – The prime minister has confirmed that a cabinet reshuffle is not necessary at the moment.

Responding to a cabinet shakeup rumor following the resignation of Minister for Information and Communication Technology Uttama Savanayana, Prime Minster Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said there won't be a cabinet shakeup anytime soon, adding that the resignation of Uttama was to allow the government to form a new ministry, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. He said Deputy Prime Minister, Air Chief Marshal Prajin Chantong will oversee the ministry’s work for the time being.

The premier also declined to comment on the feud among election commissioners or the controversy concerning the Election Commission chairperson.

When asked about the National Reform Steering Assembly’s proposal to enforce Article 44 of the interim constitution to resolve traffic congestion, the prime minister said traffic problems in the capital are deep-rooted and mostly relate to city planning, thus invoking Article 44 would not be an ideal solution.

I think Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn is planning on leaving soon, maybe sooner even, especially if she is forced to sign some of those asset seizure "orders". Interesting that this challenging task has been "delegated".

the job of the Bangkok Governor

The NCPO recently suspended the governor from office using Article 44 without pay for an indefinite period. So the traffic issues falls either to the deputy governor or the NCPO/military.
