Britain’s iconic red telephone boxes get a makeover

 

 

LONDON: -- In this age of mobile phones Britain’s iconic red telephone boxes have become mainly tourist attractions.

 

But now a company called Pod Works has given some of them a makeover transforming them into mini offices complete with printers, scanners plugs and even free tea and coffee.

 

The company hopes to have 50 up and running by Christmas and 300 across the country by next years.

And for those interested there will be a 25 pound a month membership fee.

Was always the case,going back 55 yrs,must admit I had a pee once

My first job 30yrs ago woz working for a advertising co in London replacing ads on the 2 glass panels  in every box. 

Good ole days when u could actually drive an park in central London without any probs. ??

With all that gear, they will likely be locked to the general public. Reason they stank and were messed up was drunken louts and vagabonds would get in there and do stuff unbecoming standard telephonic communications.

I know where one of those red phone boxes is, in the United States.  It has a working pay telephone in it too.
