The ‘Thailand One Stop Shopping Expo’, one of the biggest consumer fairs in the country, takes place at Impact Muang Thong Thani from October 15 to 23.

BANGKOK:-- THE NUMBER of small-size events held in Thailand is expected to fall 15 per cent this year due to the ongoing economic slowdown, while most large events will continue to be staged, according to the president of Home Show Co, an exhibition organiser for consumer and lifestyle products.

Veraded Jitsakdanont said that overall exhibition and consumer-fair business would drop by 15 per cent compared to last year.

"The economic slowdown is a major factor for the fall. Many small events will be out of venues. However, most big events will remain," he said.

Perhaps this will improve the quality of exhibitions and consumer fairs?

I thought the economy was doing well and improving and people were happy according to all the other government reports? So which is it now?

  • SME's urge government to consider lowering the duty on exported items to enable SMEs to sell more products
  • Thailand’s household debts have increased to 298,005 baht per household which is the highest in nine years
  • Thailand's employment situation has been in decline in the second quarter of this year with the agricultural sector losing 6.2%
