Going away, leave the pool empty or not?

I have an above ground pool that is octagonal 3x3 meters in a wooden frame with Linar.

We plan 6-9 months in Norway, and wonder if I should let the water be in the pool or not? 

I will cover the pool with an elastic PVC top and turn off the pump and filter.

What is your advice?

When i winterized my pool in Australia i put a 4 litre bottle of acid in it to stop the algae growing in the water and adjusted  the PH back up when using the pump and pool again, pool was about 7mx4m

I would remove the pump or turn it off, leave the water in, and cover the pool.

Either change the water or filter existing water with chemicals on your return.
