Khlong Thom market, still around?

can anyone tell me if Khlong Thom market is still around? i heard the government might have shut it down some time about because they sold a lot of risky stuff?

 

i'm looking for some electronic and mechanical components for a little project i'm working on, a motion simulator like the airlines use for pilot training, but a little more home build. i need some DC gear motors and misc  electronic and mechanical parts and Khlong Thom used to be the place to get all that stuff, new and used.

 

is anyone familiar with that world? where do i buy that stuff now? i guess the brick and mortar shops are still in the same places? 

 

i live i Phuket now so its hard for me to get there. is anyone able to do me a huge favor and have a look around for me for the stuff i need? if so, please P.M. me.
