10 years ago. I communicate regularly with a friend still living there. He tells me it worse than it was back then, not better.

Suppose it was a controversial point. But if one remembers Opium Dens those addicts just died ,no big draw on the Taxpayers, cheap so no thefts much to make dealers rich like today, just a thought, nothing more.

we are very quick to judge people from our perspective, i have a good mate who recently returned from the middle east after 15 years working as a "security" contractor.

when we talked about his opinion of the middle east he told me that he can understand why they bomb us, he does not agree with their methods but he says it is the only way they can fight back.

he also said that unless you lived there you cannot understand the situation because we see tainted western media.

 

i believe the philippines are the same,  we only get the news that they want us to hear.

 

and my eyes have been blinded by bullshit from american news services.
